Description

Stag's Leap Wine Cellars CASK 23 Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 is a Cabernet Sauvignon from the Stags Leap District in Napa Valley, made from 100% estate-grown grapes from the S.L.V. and FAY vineyards. Both vineyards contribute equally to this vintage: S.L.V. brings structure, concentration and spicy intensity, while FAY adds perfume, ripe fruit and a supple mid-palate.

The nose opens with black cherry, dark plum, espresso and spice. The palate is rich and expansive, with concentrated dark fruit, dried blackcurrant, full yet refined tannins and a long finish of mocha and black tea.

The wine aged for 21 months in French oak barrels, 95% of which were new. Ideal with grilled New York steak, prime rib or black-pepper-crusted tuna. Serve at 16-18°C.
