Description

Fontodi Vigna del Sorbo Chianti Classico Gran Selezione 2019 comes from a high-altitude vineyard in Panzano's Conca d'Oro. The organically farmed plot and limestone-rich galestro soil produce a Sangiovese with power, precision and a strong sense of place.

Black cherry and wild berries form the core, joined by violets, tobacco, leather, cedar, Mediterranean herbs and a touch of balsamic. The palate is deep and energetic, with refined tannins, lively acidity and a long, mineral finish.

An outstanding Chianti Classico that pairs beautifully with bistecca alla fiorentina, wild boar, ossobuco, truffles and aged pecorino. Give it plenty of air or cellar it for many more years.
