Tuscany: Cradle of Great Italian Wines
Tuscany is one of the most prestigious wine regions in the world, located in the heart of Italy. With a wine tradition dating back to the Etruscans, this region has produced some of the most iconic wines. From the rolling hills of Montalcino to the historic vineyards of Chianti - Tuscany is synonymous with elegance, tradition and exceptional quality.
Brunello di Montalcino DOCG
Brunello di Montalcino is one of Italy's most celebrated wines and carries the prestigious DOCG classification. Made from 100% Sangiovese Grosso (locally known as Brunello), this wine must age for a minimum of five years before release, of which at least two years in oak barrels. The result is a wine of exceptional depth, complexity and aging potential.
Banfi - Pioneer of Montalcino
The wine house Banfi is one of the most prominent producers of Brunello di Montalcino. With their extensive vineyards in the south of Montalcino, they combine centuries-old Tuscan wine tradition with modern vinification techniques. Their Brunello di Montalcino shows the classic characteristics of the Sangiovese grape: ripe red fruit, spicy tones, an elegant structure and a long, refined finish.
Tignanello - The First Super Tuscan
Alongside Brunello, NEVINI also offers the Tignanello by Marchesi Antinori: the wine with which Antinori rewrote the rules of Tuscany in the 1970s. This blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc from the Tignanello vineyard is regarded as one of the very first Super Tuscans and ranks among Italy's most sought-after wines.
The Sangiovese Grape
Sangiovese is the queen of Tuscan grape varieties and the most planted red grape in Italy. In Montalcino, the Sangiovese Grosso clone reaches its most noble expression. The grape thrives on the chalky soils and the warm, dry climate of the region, producing wines with characteristic high acidity, firm tannins and aromas of cherries, plums, leather and tobacco.
