Tiraki Pinot Noir 2024 comes from Longfield Farm in Marlborough's Southern Valleys. The hand-picked fruit is fermented separately by clone, with a proportion of whole bunches included. Twelve months in French oak, with a restrained share of new barrels, adds depth to the fruit. Cherry, raspberry and plum are joined by violet, cocoa and subtle baking spice. An earthy detail brings another dimension, while the tannins feel silky rather than forceful. The style is elegantly structured instead of heavy.
