Description
Château La Couspaude Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé 2016 is a top wine from the right bank of Bordeaux. The blend consists of 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, from an exceptional terroir in the center of Saint-Émilion village on a limestone plateau.
On the nose, intense aromas of ripe black cherries, plums, blackcurrant, vanilla, toast and a subtle floral touch. On the palate it is full, ripe and generous, with silky tannins, a velvet texture and flavors of dark fruit, mocha, chocolate and spices. The 2016 vintage is considered one of the best of the decade.
The wine ages 18 months in French oak barriques (80% new wood). The finish is long, warm and elegant. Ideal with leg of lamb, rib-eye steak, duck and aged cheeses.
