Description
Merum Priorati Destí Sols Viognier 2024 is an extremely limited white Priorat made from 100% Viognier. The grapes come from small plots around Porrera at an elevation of 470 metres, where the vines root in Priorat's distinctive llicorella slate soils. Only 490 bottles were produced from this vintage.
The nose offers fleshy white flowers, pastry, burnt sugar and ripe fruit. The palate is fresh and precise, with a silky texture, fine tension and a long, persistent finish.
The grapes are hand-harvested, chilled for 24 hours and then fermented in stainless steel. The wine subsequently matures for six months on its fine lees in first- and second-use French oak barrels, followed by at least six months in bottle. It is bottled without filtration or fining. Serve at 10°C with refined fish dishes, shellfish, poultry, creamy preparations or Mediterranean cuisine.
